Do you feel like itching your skin all the time? Itchy skin is a common problem that affects many people. Depending on the severity, it can be mildly annoying to the intensely irritating problem. It disturbs daily activities and sleeps.
Itching can have various causes of an allergic reaction, insects bites, skin infections, dry weather, soaps and detergents and even some medicines.
Can baking soda stop itching?
Baking soda is the common home remedy for the itchy skin as well as the skin problem. Baking soda has a calming effect due to its anti-inflammatory properties. Plus, it acts as a neutral acid neutralizer that helps relieve itching.
How to apply
- Add 1 cup of baking soda to a bathtub filled with cold water. Stir it well to distribute the baking soda thoroughly. Soak in water for nearly half an hour. Pat yourself dry instead of rubbing the skin with a towel.Do this regularly.
- For getting save itching, prepare a paste by mixing three tablespoons of baking soda with one tablespoon of water. Apply the paste to the affected areas and leave it on for about 10 minutes. Do this once daily.
Note: Never use baking soda on the cracked skin or open wounds.
